# About Kanaeru AI

**Kanaeru AI** is the delivery brand of **Kanaeru Labs**, an AI-native software
studio based in Osaka, Japan. We build and ship production software for founders
and engineering teams who need an outcome, not an estimate.

## The name

*Kanaeru* (叶える) is Japanese for "to grant" or "to make come true". We picked it
because the job is not to write code - it is to make the thing the client
imagined actually exist, in production, working.

## What we believe

**Demos are not deliverables.** An AI-generated prototype that runs once on a
laptop is not software. We consider a project delivered when it is deployed in
the client's own infrastructure, covered by tests, documented, and handed over
with full IP transfer.

**AI does the volume, humans own the judgement.** We use agentic workflows for
scaffolding, refactoring, test generation and documentation. Architecture,
security decisions, data modelling and the final review stay with senior
engineers. This is what we call Review-Driven Design (RDD).

**The spec is the contract.** Most failed projects fail in the requirements, not
the code. Spec-Driven Development (SDD) means we write the specification, you
approve it, and the specification - not a Slack thread - defines what "done"
means.

**Verification beats reporting.** Every milestone comes with evidence you can
check yourself: passing test output, a deployment log, a staging URL. You should
never have to take our word for progress.

## How we are structured

Kanaeru Labs is a small senior team augmented by an internal fleet of specialised
AI agents - implementation, testing, review, integration and documentation
agents - orchestrated by human engineers. That is how a 5-to-30 day delivery
window is possible without cutting the review steps.

## What we work on

Full-stack TypeScript (Next.js, React, Node.js), Python, PostgreSQL and MongoDB,
deployed to AWS, GCP, Azure, Vercel, Railway, Render or Fly.io. On the AI side:
LangChain and LangGraph agents, retrieval-augmented generation, and LLM
evaluation and observability with LangSmith, Traceloop and RAGAS.

## Working languages

English and Japanese (日本語対応). We work with Japanese clients in Japanese, and
international clients in English, without a translation layer in between.
